Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Lansing, NC
Friday – Sunday, June 23-25 Registration Deadline: Friday, June 8
Lansing, NC
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a type of massage that encourages natural flow of lymph back to the heart. Our Lymphatic System depends on contractions of the muscles to carry lymph through the blood vessels to our lymph nodes and then to the lymph ducts which returns diminished toxic or toxic-free lymph back to the Cardiovascular System (the heart). This type of massage is done with a feather-like touch of five grams of pressure. Lymphatic dis-ease such as Lymphedema represents a serious problem in our culture. The fods we eat, lack of or not enough movement, sleep and rest contributes a great deal to the sluggish lymph. MLD can be used as a pre/post- surgery treatment, restorative or it can take the place of traditional massage as a regular form of healthcare and well-being. In this seminar we will discuss and demonstrate a full body MLD protocol focusing on technique, indications and contraindications and mapping of the Lymphatic System.
Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

- Demonstrate a working knowledge of indications and contraindications

Gentle Waters Facial Lymphatics
Lansing NC
This Class is Full. Please email blueridge@ctc.net to be placed on waitlist
August 26 and 27 Registration Deadline: Friday, August 11
Lansing, NC
Gentle Waters Facial Lymphatics focuses on a gentle approach to facial massage incorporating Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and increased circulation with specific massage techniques. Proper nutrition, water intake and a daily massage regime are all part of this wonderful class that teaches an entire protocol for you to use on your clients. The Endocrine System and how it affects our mindbody is discussed at length with activities to stimulate that system. Well-aging elements are also discussed, demonstrated and applied. The Endocrine System works alongside the Nervous System to form the control systems of the body. The Nervous System provides a very fast and narrowly targeted system to turn on specific glands and muscles throughtout the body. The Endocrine System, on the other hand is much slower acting, but has very widespread, long lasting and powerful effects. Hormones are distributed by glands through the bloodstream to the entire body, affecting any cell with a receptor for a particular hormone. Most hormones affect cells in several organs or throughout the entire body, leading to many diverse and powerful responses. The workshop introduces the Throat, Brow and Crown Chakras as an energetic component showing how our energy can help to move lymphatic flow more fluidly. The higher our vibration, the more effective our mindbody systems operate. Dry brushing is used as an integral part of the MLD process as well as heat and cold applications. A product kit is included in the cost of the workshop and allows for 40-45 facial lympahtics treatments. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
